Have you ever met someone that saw all of your potential? That knew you better than you knew yourself? That pushed you to do new things before you thought you were ready? So you avoid him, because he makes you feel uncomfortable and you just know he's going to push you in a new uncomfortable direction.
Jesus is like that for me. I love Him so much but when I talk to Him, I know what He's going to say. It's not going to be pretty. It's not going to feel good. I'm gonna hafta change. So I avoid Him, but He keeps tapping me on the shoulder. "I love you Maureen, come spend time with me" You can't run from that forever.

Hmmm...ya I know I have met someone, or more than one of them who recognized a lot of my potential and pushed me to do things in ways I never thought I could. One of them was getting up in front of everyone and singing on the worship team. Wow, hard to believe it took me so many years to do that. I've also felt that same push from Jesus...and very much so lately. Unfortunately we can't run from it forever. Sooner or later, He makes His wants & desires known to us in some way, and while He waits patiently for us to hear HIM, we need to realize that forever doesn't exist here on earth. We just never know when our day and time will end here so we need to be ready for that day when we meet Jesus face to face. Are we ready for that? It's a good thing that He is such a loving and wonderful Father, however like any father, He will try to lead & direct us in the right way, and discipline us in a loving way. We can only run for so long, but eventually we will have to account for our actions, and explain why we didn't listen & live up to the potential of what we truly could have done!! Definitely something to think about!
